DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE): REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
Be careful not to grip the propeller shaft tube too tightly in a vise as this may cause deformation.
(a) Using SST, press in a new No. 1 propeller shaft dust deflector until it contacts the end surface of the universal joint yoke.

Be careful not to damage the No. 1 propeller shaft dust deflector.
(b) Using SST, press the No. 1center support bearing assembly into the universal joint yoke.

(c) Using SST, press in a new No. 2 propeller shaft dust deflector until it contacts the No. 1 center support bearing assembly.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the No. 2 propeller shaft dust deflector.
(d) Using a snap ring expander, install a new No. 2 propeller shaft dust deflector snap ring.
2. INSTALL PROPELLER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the dust boot.

NOTICE:
Assemble the propeller intermediate shaft assembly after wrapping vinyl tape around the spline to prevent damage.
(b) Apply grease to the splines.
Grease:
Molybdenum disulfide lithium base NLGI No. 2
(c) Install the adjusting nut to the propeller intermediate shaft.
(d) Align the matchmarks and assemble the propeller intermediate shaft and propeller shaft assembly.
(e) Cover the adjusting nut with the dust boot.

NOTICE:
The alignment of the propeller intermediate shaft companion flange and the propeller shaft assembly companion flange should differ by 180°.
(f) Temporarily tighten the adjusting nut by hand.
