Removal





DOOR / HATCH: HOOD SUPPORT: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
* Avoid touching the piston rod as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
* Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
* In order to prevent the piston rod from deforming, do not apply any horizontal load to the cylinders.

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for LH Side) Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (for RH Side) Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR Removal

5. REMOVE HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

(a) When the hood support assembly is to be replaced with a new one:

(1) Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, remove the hood support assembly by releasing the 2 stop rings.

NOTICE:
Remove the hood support assembly while supporting the hood by hand.

(b) When the hood support assembly is to be reinstalled:





(1) Remove the 3 bolts and hood support assembly.

NOTICE:
Remove the hood support assembly while supporting the hood by hand.
