Removal

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

2. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the parking brake control pedal assembly Removal.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

(a) Pull up the claw of the parking brake lever sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the parking brake lever sub-assembly.

(c) Remove the clip and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake lever sub-assembly.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

(a) Pull up the claw of the parking brake control pedal assembly.

(b) Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

(c) Remove the clip and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, disengage the 2 clamps, and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly form the body.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the cable support bracket.





(c) Remove the 2 cable support brackets from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 differential support protector.

9. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

10. REMOVE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and cable support bracket.
