4GR-FSE ENGINE MECHANICAL: FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal

3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

(a) Using SST, loosen the pulley bolt.

(b) Tighten the pulley bolt to 2 or 3 threads of the crankshaft.

(c) Using SST, remove the pulley bolt and pulley.

HINT
Apply grease to the threads and tip of SST (center bolt) prior to use.

(d) Remove the pulley set key of the key groove.





4. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip taped, pry out the oil seal.

After the removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
