BRAKE CONTROL: FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD): INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT
* The front speed sensor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
* The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
* Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (FRONT SPEED SENSOR)

HINT
The front speed sensor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

(a) Install the front axle hub Installation.

2. CHECK FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS Front Axle Hub

3. CHECK FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT Front Axle Hub

4. INSTALL FRONT DISC (for 6-Pot Caliper) Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DISC (except 6-Pot Caliper) Installation

6. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 6-Pot Caliper) Installation

7. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (except 6-Pot Caliper) Installation

8. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

(a) Connect the connector to the front speed sensor.





(b) Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)

(c) Connect the pad wear indicator connector.

(d) Install the 2 sensor clamps with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamps.





(e) Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamp.





(f) Attach the sensor clip.

(g) Connect the sensor connector.

(h) Connect the front fender liner.

9. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL Installation

10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation

12. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

(a) Check the speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
