DESCRIPTION

A repair procedure has been established for judder or vibration on B2000 SE-5 and Sports vehicles when braking from highway speed.

Brake Judder:




REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE:
Steps 1-3 should be performed at the same time.

1. Remove the rear wheels and brake drums. Replace the brake shoes with 1982 model brake shoes (8788 26 310).

2. Install the modified brake drum with fins (UA47 49 251).

Red Dot:




3. Install the rear tires on the modified wheels (9965 81 5540).

^ Apply a soap and water solution to the bead area of the tire before mounting on the wheel in order to get an accurate mounting of the tire.

^ If a red dot is visible on the tire, align the red dot to the dot on the wheel.

^ Balance the rear wheels and tires using an on-the-vehicle electronic balancer, if available. If not, use an offthe-vehicle electronic balancer.

Torque Sequence:




4. Install the wheel and tire on the vehicle and install the wheel nuts finger tight. Torque the nuts to 87-94 ft.lbs. in the sequence below.

NOTE:
Do not use an impact wrench to tighten the wheel nuts.
