Engine Replace
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Scribe hood hinge locations and remove hood.
3. Drain cooling system and engine oil.
4. Remove air cleaner, then disconnect primary wire coupler from distributor and the high tension cable from ignition coil.
5. Disconnect wire from alternator terminal B and pull electrical connector off rear of alternator.
6. Disconnect engine ground wire from right side of engine mount.
7. Disconnect electrical connectors from water temperature gauge unit and oil pressure switch.
8. Disconnect bullet connectors from slow fuel cut valve solenoid and automatic choke heater.
9. Disconnect electrical connectors from starter motor terminals B and ``S.''
10. Disconnect throttle linkage and fuel lines from carburetor.
11. Disconnect power brake unit vacuum line from intake manifold.
12. Disconnect vacuum sensing tubes from intake manifold and carburetor.
13. Disconnect heater hoses from intake manifold.
14. Disconnect all hoses and lines from radiator, then remove radiator from vehicle.
15. Remove exhaust pipe hanger from transmission bracket.
16. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
17. Remove starter motor.
18. Remove engine-to-transmission attaching bolts and support transmission with a suitable jack.
19. Attach suitable lifting equipment to engine, then carefully lift engine from vehicle.
20. Disconnect air hoses from air pump outlet and check valve.
21. Disconnect vacuum sensing tube and air hose from anti-afterburn valve, then remove valve, if equipped.
22. Remove air bypass valve, EGR valve and servo diaphragm, as equipped.
23. Remove air manifold, heat insulator and exhaust manifold.
24. Remove cylinder head port liners, if equipped.
25. Reverse procedure to install.
