Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove engine cover and drain engine oil.
3. Remove clutch cylinder attaching nuts and let cylinder hang.
4. Remove clutch cover plate attaching bolts and the plate.
5. Remove oil pan attaching nuts and bolts and lower pan onto crossmember.
6. Remove oil strainer from oil pump, then remove oil pan.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable sealant over inner borders of block and oil pan mating surfaces.
b. Torque oil pan attaching bolts and nuts to 5-7 ft.lbs.
8. After completion of installation, start engine and check for leaks.
