Summary of Program Features
1. BackgroundOn some 1979-1982 Mazda 626 and 1979-1984 Mazda B2000 vehicles equipped with MA-type engine, low compression and/or coolant/oil leakage may be evident due to the premature failure of the cylinder head gasket.
To improve reliability of the cylinder head gasket, the material of the cylinder head gasket has been modified from a woven type to carbon from the end of October, 1983 as indicated in the Service Bulletin, Category 1, 001/84 dated February 15, 1984.
In order to assure customers' continued confidence and satisfaction with Mazda products, Mazda Motor Corporation has determined to institute the Program.
