Wheel Hub: Service and Repair


1. Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheel.
2. Remove brake caliper, leaving hose attached, and suspend out of way.
3. Remove grease cap, cotter pin, nut lock and the adjusting nut.
4. Remove washer and outer bearing from wheel hub.
5. Slide wheel hub and brake disc assembly off spindle.
6. Remove grease seal and inner bearing from wheel hub.
7. Place wheel hub and brake disc assembly in suitable vise and scribe alignment marks on brake disc and wheel hub.
8. Remove attaching bolts and separate brake disc from wheel hub. Do not drive off brake disc.
9. Drive out outer race, using suitable brass drift in slots provided.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque caliper bracket attaching bolts to 40-47 ft.lbs.
b. Pack new bearings and fill hub cavity with lithium grease.
c. After completion of installation, adjust wheel bearing.
