Air Control Valve



B2000 CALIF.

1. Run engine until it reaches normal operating temperature, then turn off engine.
2. Disconnect air hose at bottom of air control valve.
3. Start engine and run at idle.
4. Disconnect vacuum hose between No. 1 relief valve and vacuum delay valve at air control valve, and ensure air is discharged from outlet port of air control valve.
5. Connect vacuum hose to relief valve and ensure air is not discharged from outlet port.
6. Disconnect vacuum hose between No. 2 relief valve and water thermo valve at air control valve and plug hose.
7. Install "T" fitting between intake manifold and evaporative shutter valve, and connect suiable vacuum hoses to two parallel ports of fitting.
8. Connect vacuum hose connected in step 7 to No. 2 relief valve so intake manifold vacuum can be directed to No. 2 relief valve.
9. Ensure air is discharged from outlet port of air control valve.
10. Disconnect vacuum hose from No. 2 relief valve and plug hose.
11. Ensure air is not discharged from outlet port of air control valve.
12. If test results are unsatisfactory, replace air control valve.
