Replacement Procedure

1. Obtain the parts kit and clear a large working surface where you can lay the sun roof flat. A soft pad on the working surface will help prevent damage to the sunroof.

2. From inside the car, open the sunroof latch. Disconnect the latch lever from the body side latch by pressing the left and right arms together.

3. Disconnect the security tether from its hook.

4. While pushing upward on the rear edge of the sunroof, remove the sunroof assembly from the vehicle by tilting the sunroof up and pulling rearward.

5. Place the sunroof assembly on the padded working surface with the 2 screws holding the male hinge facing up.

6. Remove the 2 screws holding each male hinge to the sunroof surface. Remove and discard the old hinges.

7. Place the template supplied in the parts kit on the glass inside of the rubber seal. Align the rubber block of one new hinge with the cutout in template. Tighten screws to 2-3 N-m. (1.5 to 2.2 ft.lbs.). For the other hinge turn the template over and repeat this installation step.

CAUTION:
To avoid breaking the glass, do not overtighten the screws.

8. Reinstall the sunroof assembly, attach the security tether and reconnect the latch. Readjust the hinges as necessary to insure proper sunroof fit. Tighten screws to 2-3 N-m. (1.5 to 2.2 ft.lbs).

CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the screws.
