SUNROOF WIND NOISE/AIR LEAK
PURPOSE
If YOU encounter a 1990 Eclipse vehicle that has a sunroof wind noise or air leak condition, that you cannot eliminate through proper adjustment, replacing the sunroof weatherstrip with a newly designed weatherstrip may reduce the noise or air leak.
MODELS AFFECTED
1990 model year Eclipse vehicles with factory equipped sunroofs.

WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT
1. From inside the car, open the sunroof latch. Disconnect the latch lever from the body side latch by pressing the left and right arms together (Figure 1).
2. Squeeze the security tether together and disconnect it from the hook (Figure 2).
3. While pushing upward on the rear edge of the sunroof, remove the sunroof assembly from the vehicle by tilting the sunroof up and pulling rearward (Figure 3).
CAUTION:
Take care not to bend the sunroof hinges when removing the sunroof from the vehicle.
4. Remove the existing sunroof weatherstrip from the housing and discard it.
5. Position the new weatherstrip on the housing with the seam of the weatherstrip lined up with the rear of the sunroof housing at the center of the latch base (Figure 4).
6. Push the weatherstrip firmly over the flange, making certain that the weatherstrip is fully seated on the flange.
7. Reinstall the sunroof assembly, attach the security tether and reconnect the latch.
