HEATER - A/C MODE SELECTION DAMPER

LEVER SLEEVE


PURPOSE

When the mode select control cable is replaced, a vinyl sleeve must also be added to the mode selection damper (air mode control) lever. This sleeve reduces clearances between the guide tab extending over the control cable. This reduced clearance provides additional support to the cable and reduces the possibility of the cable bending at the control lever.

SLEEVE INSTALLATION

1. Locate the mode selection damper lever on the left side of the heater unit directly above the distribution floor duct (Figure 1).

2. Move the mode selection knob to the defrost position.

3. Slide the vinyl sleeve onto the tab of the mode selection damper lever (Figure 2).
