PURPOSE
The Vehicle Emission Control Information Label on some 1990 California Eclipse vehicles must be replaced. A letter has been sent to the affected vehicle owners instructing them to install the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label themselves. A copy of the customer notification lefter appears on page 3. Any vehicle owner who does not want to install the new label personally can ask their Mitsubishi dealer to install the label.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
Some 1990 Eclipse, California emission specification, with 1.8L, 2.0L, or 2.0L Turbo engine.
PARTS INFORMATION
All customers will receive one (1) label along with their notification letters. Should a customer misplace their label, contact your District Service Manager with the Vehicle Identification Number for a replacement label. DO NOT ORDER REPLACEMENT LABELS.
The part number of the label has not changed.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Reimbursement for performing the label installation may be claimed by submitting a RECALL CLAIM (Claim type "C") through the Diamond Network Warranty System menu option "E-5" as shown. DO NOT SUBMIT AS "W" CLAIM.

The bar code identification on the new label is longer than the one on the old label. See illustration on page 2.
LABEL INSTALLATION
Open the hood. Locate the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label. Carefully clean the old label of dirt and residue. Verify the part number on the existing vehicle label. The part number of the old label and new label should match. Remove the backing strip from the new label and apply over the old existing label.
