SPECIAL MUT-II FUNCTIONS FOR SERVICING THE F4AC1 (2.0L NON TURBO) AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE

PURPOSE

This bulletin introduces and explains some special functions of the MUT-II to use when servicing the Eclipse F4AC1 (2.0L Non Turbo) automatic transaxle.

Swapping a TCM from one vehicle to another
Even though swapping a TCM from one vehicle to another can be done, moving a TCM from one vehicle to another is never recommended! If a situation arises where you must install a TCM from one vehicle into another, make sure you reprogram the TCM using the information in this bulletin after you install it into the new vehicle, and again when it is returned to the original vehicle. Reprogramming must be done after installing a TCM in a vehicle. In addition, transmission shift quality may be different in the original vehicle after reinstallation and reprogramming of a TCM that was used in another vehicle.
