PURPOSE

The 1995 and 1996 Eclipse Service Manuals, Volume 1, have instructions for checking F4AC1 automatic transaxle oil pressure readings that refer to special tools that are not available to MMSA dealers. This bulletin explains the proper gauges, adapters, and fittings, which are available from MMSA, along with specification values to use when checking the various oil pressure readings on the F4AC1 automatic transaxle on the 1995-96 Eclipse 2.0L non-turbo.

F4AC1 TRANSAXLE OIL PRESSURE CHECK SPECIFICATIONS

PRESSURE TAP ARRANGEMENT ORDER ON CASE FROM BELLHOUSING TO END COVER:





1. Refer to the illustration for tap locations.

2. Use the 0-300 psi gauge from gauge set MD998330-01 for all taps except the Overdrive Clutch. Use the 0-100 psi gauge for the Overdrive Clutch.

3. Use Pressure Gauge Adapters, MD99S332-01, and Adapter Fitting, MIT220432, to connect the gauges to the transmission pressure taps
