Before checking, turn ball joint at lease ten revolutions. Check ball joint for play. If ball stud is worn, play in axial direction (C) is more than zero inch, ball joint swing force (A) is not 1.8-12.3 lbs. or ball joint turning torque (B) is not 4.3-30.4 inch lbs., replace ball joint, Fig. 2.
