PURPOSE AND OPERATION
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (EGR) controls the quantity of exhaust gas to be diverted to the intake manifold through vertical movement of a taper valve connected to the diaphragm. Vacuum is applied to the diaphragm in response to the opening of the throttle valve.
