Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Power Steering Pressure Switch:

DESCRIPTION
Closes to inform the Engine Control Module (ECM) when power steering load is high.

OPERATION
It signals the ECM when the pressure increases (indicating extra engine load). The ECM can then compensate for the load by sending a signal to the Idle Air Control-Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-ACC) Valve to increase idle speed.
