Check ball joint for play. If ball stud is worn, play in axial direction (C) is more than zero inches, ball joint swing force (A) is not 1.8-12.3 lbs. or ball joint turning torque (B) is not 4.3-30.4 inch lbs., replace ball joint, Fig. 3. Before checking, turn ball joint at least ten revolutions.
