Cooling Fan Control System

Radiator Fan Control:

PURPOSE
To allow the Engine Control Module (ECM) to control cooling fan operation based on various sensor input signals.

OPERATION
The ECM provides the ground signals to the radiator fan relays to control fan speed and operation based on signals supplied from the engine coolant temperature sensor, air conditioner switch, vehicle speed sensor and air conditioner dual-pressure switch. Automatic Transmissions models have a 3-step control system [HIGH/LOW/OFF]. Manual Transmission models have a 2-step control system [ON/OFF].
