Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Checking Inhibitor Switch and Circuit:

INHIBITOR SWITCH-VOLTAGE TEST
^ Turn ignition switch ON.
^ Test Inhibitor Switch circuit as outlined in the image.

INHIBITOR SWITCH-RESISTANCE TEST

Inhibitor Switch Testing:

^ Check continuity between terminals 1 and 2 and between terminals 3 and 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 while moving selector lever through each position.

Test Chart:

^ There should be continuity in all described combinations.
