Valve Guide: Service and Repair

Check valve stem to valve guide clearance. Clearance should be 0.005 inch or less. Service valves are available in standard size (.235 inch). If clearance is excessive and new standard size valve stem will not bring clearance within specifications, cylinder head must be replaced.
