Water/Coolant Pump

COOLANT PUMP (L47)

Coolant Pump Mounting (V8):

TOOL REQUIRED
^ J 38816-A Water Pump Remover/Installer

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain cooling system.
2. Engine torque strut, position out of way.
3. Air cleaner assembly.
4. Coolant pump belt cover.
5. Coolant pump drive belt.
6. By-pass hose.
7. Lower radiator hose from thermostat housing.
8. Coolant pump cover (4 bolts).
9. Thermostat housing from coolant pump housing.
10. Coolant pump from housing using J 38816-A. Turn clockwise to remove.
11. Coolant pump from vehicle.

CLEAN
^ Coolant pump and pump cover sealing surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coolant pump turn counter clockwise to install.

TIGHTEN
^ Coolant pump to 100 Nm (73 lb. ft.).

2. Coolant pump cover (4 bolts).

TIGHTEN
^ All housing bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).

3. Lower radiator hose to thermostat housing.
4. By-pass hose.
5. Coolant pump drive belt.
6. Coolant pump belt cover.
7. Air cleaner assembly.
8. Engine torque strut.
9. Refill cooling system.
