Trip Computer Information

The Driver Information Center (DIC) receives trip computer information, such as instantaneous fuel usage, over the serial data line from the instrument cluster. A discrete input sends fuel level information to the cluster for range calculations. This raw data is processed by the cluster using its internal time keeping functions to determine, for example, average fuel economy.
