Circuit Operation - Exterior Lights

TURN LAMPS
With the Ignition Switch in RUN or START, voltage is applied through I/P Fuse Block TURN LP Fuse, CKT 539, the Turn Flasher and CKT 16 to the normally closed switch in the Turn/Hazard Switch Assembly. With the Turn Switch in the LH TURN position, voltage is applied through the Turn/Hazard Switch Assembly through two paths to the lamps. One path is through the LH Front Park/Turn Lamps and the Side Marker Lamps. The second path is applied through the LH Tail/Stop/Turn Lamps. The lamps turn on immediately. They begin to flash when the current heats up the timing element in the Turn Flasher, and the flasher repeatedly opens and closes the circuit. A similar procedure is followed when the Turn Switch is in the RH TURN position.

HAZARD LAMPS
Voltage is applied at all times through RH Rear Power Distribution Center Fuse Block #1 HAZD/STOP Fuse, CKT 140, the Hazard Flasher and CKT 27 to the normally open switch in the Turn/Hazard Switch Assembly. With the Hazard Switch in HAZARD, voltage is applied through the Turn/Hazard Switch Assembly to all four paths used by both front and rear turn lamps. All turn lamps and both indicators flash on and off. In the HAZARD position, the turn circuit is always open, and the Hazard Flasher controls the flashing of the lamps.

STOPLAMPS
Voltage is applied at all times through RH Rear Power Distribution Center Fuse Block #1 HAZD/STOP Fuse and CKT 140 to the Stoplamp Switch. When the brake pedal is depressed, voltage is applied through the Stoplamp/Brake Switch and CKT 17 to the Tail/Turn/Stop Lamps and the Center High Mounted Stop Lamps causing all Stoplamps to light.

PARK/TAIL/MARKER/LICENSE LAMPS
Voltage is applied at all times through RH Rear Power Distribution Center Fuse Block #1 PARK LP Fuse and CKT 240 to the Lamp Control Module. With the Headlamp Switch in PARK or HEAD, voltage is applied from the Lamp Control Module, CKT 9 and I/P Fuse Block LH PRK LP Fuse and RH PRK LP Fuse to the Park/Turn, Tail/Stop/Turn, Side Marker, and License Lamps causing them to light.
