Diesel Data: Automotive Repair

Preliminary Inspection

Inspect all tires for proper inflation. Inspect tie rods for lateral end motion relative to the steering knuckle and tie rod end seals for any visible signs of damage. Replace tie rod end if either of these conditions exist. Inspect runout of wheels and tires. Inspect trim height. If out of specifications, correct before alignment. Inspect shocks, rack and pinion and control arms for looseness and proper operation. Replace any damaged steering/suspension components. If any excess weight is normally carried in the trunk of vehicle, alignment is recommended with load in place.
Ensure vehicle is level.
