Fig. 3 Rear Suspension Assembly Replacement:






1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels and disconnect exhaust system components as necessary to provide clearance.
2. Remove rear springs as described under Coil Spring, Suspension/Service and Repair/Rear then remove brake calipers from control arms. It is not necessary to disconnect hydraulic line at caliper; support caliper from frame to prevent hydraulic line damage.
3. Disconnect parking brake cables at calipers and at rear suspension support assembly.
4. Disconnect rear suspension support assembly electrical connectors from electrical harness, then disconnect Electronic Level Control (ELC) electrical connector and vent hose.
5. Disconnect ELC air tube from ELC compressor, then support rear suspension assembly, Fig. 3, with a suitable jack.
6. Remove 3 support bracket to body bolts from each side of vehicle.
7. Remove 2 front and 2 rear anchor bolts, then lower rear suspension support assembly from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specifications.
b. Adjust parking brake cable as necessary.
