Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 39500 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System
^ J 38042 Dual O-ring Joint Separator
1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the right wheelhouse liner.
4. Use the J 38042 to remove the A/C line connection from the accumulator outlet.
5. Remove the A/C line connection from the condenser inlet.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
7. Remove the fastener attaching the compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
8. Remove the A/C compressor hose from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector
1. Install the compressor hose.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the fasten attaching the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
3. Connect the A/C line connector to the condenser inlet.
Tighten
Tighten the condenser inlet to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
4. Connect the A/C line connection to the accumulator outlet.
Tighten
Tighten the accumulator outlet connection to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
8. Using the J 39400-A leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing.
