Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

- Tools Required
- J24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
3. Remove the hex nut.





4. Loosen the inner adjustment link nut.





5. Using J24319-B separate the adjustment link form the knuckle.
6. Remove the inner adjustment link nut and bolt.
7. Remove the tie rod assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the tie rod assembly.
2. Install the inner part of the tie rod assembly to the support.
3. Install the inner nut and bolt to the frame support.
Tighten the nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the outer adjustment link to the control arm.
Tighten the nut to 50 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).
5. Lower the vehicle.
Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
6. Check toe adjustment. Refer to Specifications in Alignment.
