Park Brake Cable Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

- Tools Required
- J37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.





2. Loosen the brake cable at the equalizer (2).





3. Remove the cable from the mounting bracket.
4. Remove the cable from the actuator lever.





5. Remove cable from the support bracket using the J37043.
6. Remove the parking brake cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Place the cable in position.





2. Install the cable on the support bracket using the J37043.
3. Install the cable on the actuator lever.





4. Install the cable on the mounting bracket.





5. Tighten the nut on the equalizer in order to remove the slack in the cable.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Adjust the parking brake.
