HVAC System - Automatic
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging
3. Remove the suction hose nut (3) at the accumulator.
4. Position aside the suction hose from the accumulator.
5. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) from the accumulator..
6. Position aside the compressor hose from the accumulator.
7. Remove the accumulator bracket bolt.
8. Remove the accumulator.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the accumulator.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the accumulator bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the accumulator bracket bolt to 4 N.m (36 lb in).
IMPORTANT: Coat the new O-ring seals with mineral base 525 Viscosity refrigerant oil.
3. Install the new O-ring seals onto the compressor line and the suction line fitting.
4. Install the suction hose onto the accumulator.
5. Install the suction hose nut (3) to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).
6. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
7. install the compressor hose nut (2).
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
8. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging.
9. Inspect the A/C system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
10. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
