License Plate Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the screws retaining the rear compartment lid trim.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid trim.




4. Reach through the access opening on the underside of the rear compartment lid and depress the license lamp retainers to release.
5. Carefully push the license lamp out from the rear compartment lid.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the license lamp.
7. Release the license lamp lens retaining tabs, then carefully remove the lens from the license lamp base, if replacing the bulb.
8. Remove the bulb from the lamp base socket, if replacing the bulb.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE



1. Install the bulb to the lamp base socket, if removed.
2. Align the license lamp lens to the license lamp base, then carefully press to secure the retaining tabs, if removed.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the license lamp.
4. Align the license lamp assembly to the opening in the rear compartment lid, then press to secure the retaining tabs.




5. Install the rear compartment lid trim to the rear compartment lid.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

6. Install the rear compartment lid trim retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid trim retaining screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Close the rear compartment lid.
