Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Service and Repair
- Tools Required- J24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the adjustment link to lower control arm retaining nut.
4. Using J24319-B separate the adjustment link from the vehicle.
5. Support the rear support with a transmission jack.
6. Lower the rear support for access to the inner adjustment link bolt.
7. Remove the rear support mounting bolts.
8. Remove the inner adjustment link nut and bolt.
9. Remove the adjustment link from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the adjustment link to the vehicle.
2. Install the adjustment link inner nut and bolt.
- Tighten the adjustment link inner nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
3. Raise the rear support to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the rear support mounting bolts.
- Tighten the rear support mounting bolts to 191 Nm (141 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the adjustment link to the lower control arm.
6. Install the adjustment link retaining nut.
- Tighten the adjustment link retaining nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the tire and wheel.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Adjust rear toe.
