Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Position a drain pan under the vehicle.
3. Remove the transaxle oil cooler pipe retainer at transaxle.





4. Remove the transaxle oil hose quick connection at transaxle by removing white plastic cover and carefully removing the wire retainer from connector with a flat-bladed tool or a hook tool.
5. Remove the transaxle oil hose quick connection at the radiator by removing white plastic cover and carefully removing the wire retainer from connector with a flat-bladed tool or a hook tool.
6. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipe wire retainers to the connectors.
2. Push connectors into transaxle coupling.
3. Push white protector back over the connector.





4. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipes to the radiator.
5. Install the transaxle oil cooler retainer to the transaxle.
6. Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Do NOT overfill the transaxle. The overfilling of the transaxle causes foaming, loss of fluid, shift complaints, and possible damage to the transaxle.

7. Adjust the fluid level.
8. Inspect for fluid leaks.
