Cooler Pipe Replacement^ Tools Required
- J41623-A Cooler Quick Connect Tool.
Removal Procedure
Notice: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Position a drain pan under the vehicle.
3. Remove the transaxle oil cooler pipe at the front of transaxle.
4. At the rear of the transaxle. Remove the transaxle cooler pipe retainer from the transaxle with a flat-bladed tool or a hook tool.
5. Remove the upper transaxle oil cooler line retaining bolt from the fan shroud.
6. Slide the plastic cap off the upper transaxle oil cooler line quick connect fitting.
7. Disconnect the upper transaxle oil cooler line from the radiator using the J41623-A.
8. Disconnect the lower transaxle oil cooler line pipe fitting from the radiator.
9. Remove the transaxle oil cooler lines.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipe wire retainers to the connectors.
2. Install the transaxle oil cooler lines at the rear of transmission.
3. Install the transaxle oil cooler lines at the front of transmission.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Connect the lower transaxle oil cooler line to the radiator.
Important Ensure the lower transaxle oil cooler line is positioned upwards while tightening.
^ Tighten the transaxle oil cooler line to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
6. Push the upper transaxle oil cooler line into the radiator quick connect fitting, until a "click" is heard.
7. Tug gently on the cooler line to ensure proper retention.
8. Install the transaxle oil cooler retainer to the transaxle.
9. Slide the plastic cap (1) over the quick connect joint.
Notice: Do NOT overfill the transaxle. The overfilling of the transaxle causes foaming, loss of fluid, shift complaints, and possible damage to the transaxle.
10. Adjust the fluid level.
11. Inspect for fluid leaks.
