Brake Rotor Replacement - Front

^ Tools Required
- J 41013 Rotor Resurfacing Kit
- J 42450-A Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Notice: Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from it's mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak.

2. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent; do NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper.
3. Remove the brake caliper bracket assembly.
4. Mark the relationship of the rotor to the hub.
5. Remove the brake rotor.

Installation Procedure

Important: Whenever the rotor has been separated from the wheel bearing flange, clean any rust or contaminants from the wheel bearing flange and the brake rotor mating surfaces. Failure to do this may result in increased lateral runout of the brake rotor, and brake pulsation.

1. Use the J 41013 in order to thoroughly clean any corrosion from the wheel flange.
2. Use the J 42450-A in order to clean any rust or corrosion from the wheel hut) surface.
3. Install the brake rotor over the wheel studs onto the wheel bearing flange.
4. Install the brake caliper bracket assembly.
5. Install the brake caliper to the brake caliper bracket assembly.
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
