Radiator Replacement^ Tools Required
- J 37097-A Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the cooling fans.
2. Using the J 37097-A remove the clamp.
3. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.
4. Disconnect the lower transaxle oil cooler line from the radiator.
5. Remove the upper radiator seal.
6. Remove the headlamps.
7. Remove the 2 condenser mounting bolts.
Important: Care should be taken when removing the condenser not to damage the lower attachment points of both the radiator and condenser.
8. Lift the condenser upward slightly in order to release the lower feet from the lower mounting features located at the front of the radiator.
9. Lift the radiator up and out of the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the radiator behind the condenser.
Important: Care should be taken when installing the condenser not to damage the lower attachment points of both the radiator and condenser.
2. Position the condenser, aligning the lower feet to the lower mounting features located at the front of the radiator.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Notice: Refer to Condenser to Radiator End Tank Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the condenser mounting bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
4. Install the headlamps.
5. Install the upper radiator seal.
Important: Ensure the lower transaxle oil cooler line is positioned upwards while tightening.
6. Connect the lower transaxle oil cooler line into the radiator.
^ Tighten the line to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect the outlet radiator hose to the radiator.
8. Using the J 37097-A to reposition the clamp.
9. Install the cooling fans.
