Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the HVAC Module. Service and Repair
2. Remove the mode actuator.
3. Remove the recirculation actuator screws.
4. Remove the recirculation actuator.
5. Remove the right temperature actuator screws.
6. Remove the right temperature actuator.
7. Remove the left temperature actuator screws.
8. Remove the left temperature actuator.
9. Remove the screws that retain the mode actuator bracket.
10. Remove the mode actuator bracket.
11. Remove the upper module case screws.
12. Peel back the foam from the heater inlet.
13. Remove the upper case.
14. Remove the evaporator core.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Add the proper amount of refrigerant oil to the evaporator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
2. Install the evaporator core into the module housing.
3. Install the upper module case.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the module case screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
5. Reapply the foam at the heater inlet.
6. Install the mode actuator and bracket.
7. Install the left temperature actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
8. Install the right temperature actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
9. Install the recirculation actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
10. Install the HVAC module.
