Latch Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Compartment

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the IP storage compartment. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Instrument Panel Storage Compartment - Replacement) .




2. Disconnect the lever rod (2) from the handle and latch.
3. Remove the fasteners that secure the IP compartment latch (1) to the door.
4. Remove the latch assembly from the door.



Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the IP compartment latch (1) and fastener clip.

Tighten the fasteners to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).





2. Connect the lever rod (2) from the handle and latch.
3. Install the IP storage compartment. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Instrument Panel Storage Compartment - Replacement) .
