EMISSIONS RECALL --
1982 CHRYSLER MOTORS PASSENGER CARS WITH 1.7 LITER ENGINE AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Dear Chrysler Motors Car Owner:

It has been determined that your 1982 Plymouth Horizon/TC3 or Dodge Omni/024 may be in violation of Emissions Standards. Hydrocarbon levels could be above the allowable limits, which were established to protect the public health and welfare from the dangers of air pollution. For this reason, we are asking you to return your car -- identified by the Vehicle Identification Number on the enclosed form -- to your dealer for a special service repair. This service will be provided free of charge.

The needed parts and instructions have been sent to all Chrysler-Plymouth and Dodge dealers. The service will not hurt your engine performance or fuel economy. Your dealer is ready to serve you now. To obtain this service:

^ Contact your dealer as soon as possible to make an appointment for the free service. We request that you contact the dealer who sold you the car because the parts for your car have been shipped to the selling dealer. However, if necessary, the service can be arranged for through any Chrysler Motors dealer.

^ Take the enclosed claim form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form is for use by the dealer and by Chrysler to record completion of the service.

^ The dealer will install an air bleed control valve to deliver additional air to the intake manifold. The service will take about one-half hour.

If you have any problem obtaining the service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) The Zone Office will arrange for prompt servicing of our vehicle. If you are still unable to obtain the repair as described in this letter within a reasonable time, you may also contact the Manufacturers Operations Division of the Environmental Protection Agency (EN-340F), 401 M Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20460.

We regret any inconvenience this action may cause, but trust you understand our interest in clean air and your continuing satisfaction with our product. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter.
