EMISSIONS RECALL --
1982 CHRYSLER CORPORATION PASSENGER CARS WITH 2.2 LITER ENGINES SOLD IN CALIFORNIA

Dear Chrysler Corporation Car Owner in the State of California:

Recently we learned that your vehicle needs corrective service because it may be releasing air pollutants which exceed the California emissions standards.

Please contact your local dealer as soon as possible and make an appointment for this free service. The service will take about one hour to complete and consists of:

^ adjustment to the ignition timing

^ inspection and, if required, cleaning of the exhaust gas recirculation system

These changes will not affect either your vehicle's fuel economy or the performance of your engine.

Please take the enclosed claim form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form is for use by the dealer and by Chrysler to
record completion of the service.

As you probably know, the State of California requires that every vehicle must pass an emission test every two years and before it is sold. Without the free service we are providing, your vehicle may be more likely to fall this test and require that you make costly repairs.

We regret any inconvenience this action may cause, but trust you understand our interest in clean air and in your continued satisfaction with our products. If you experience any difficulty in obtaining the corrective service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Office in your area (listed under "Service Assistance" in your Operator's Manual). The Zone Office will take the necessary action to ensure prompt correction of your vehicle.
