3B Speed Sensor Circuit

1. Disconnect speed sensor electrical connector and connect a voltmeter between speed sensor terminals. Connect negative voltmeter lead to black wire terminal and positive lead to white/orange wire terminal.
NOTE: If equipped with electronic instrument cluster, voice alert or navigator the speed sensor wire must be removed from the 40-way bulkhead connector before performing this test.
2. Place ignition switch in the Run position.
3. If voltmeter indicates at least 4 volts, replace speed sensor.
4. If voltmeter does not indicate at least 4 volts, move voltmeter negative lead to a good engine ground. If reading is now at least 4 volts, check ground circuit for open. If voltmeter still reads 0 volts, proceed to Test 3 step C.
