SYMPTOM/CONDITION

A condition may occur on subject models of oil in the air filter box. This oil will have entered the box through the crankcase breather hose and may be identified as a tan or brown color.

NOTE: THIS SERVICE BULLETIN APPLIES ONLY TO ENGINES ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH PCV VALVE PN 4273145 WHICH IS MOULDED IN VALVE SURFACE.

THIS SERVICE BULLETIN DOES NOT APPLY TO CALIFORNIA EMISSION HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINES (SALES CODE EDJ) WHICH CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY THE CHROME CAM COVER.


PARTS REQUIRED

1 - Hi-Flow PCV Valve PN 4343581


REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Allow engine to fully warm up. Record curb idle speed with all accessories off. Make sure electric throttle control (ETC) is at curb idle extension.

2. Remove and discard original PCV valve. Install PCV valve PN 4343581.
3. Reset the curb idle speed to previously recorded value. Again, make sure ETC is at curb idle extension.
