SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Rear shelf panel may rattle while driving.

PARTS REQUIRED

2 Shelf Damper PN MB477207

REPAIR PROCEDURE

The following repair consists of drilling a hole at each end of the shelf panel and installing a shelf damper through the hole. These dampers will be installed on 1987 Colts.

1. Remove rear shelf panel.

2. Measure and mark panel at locations as shown in Figure 1. From bottom side of panel, use damper as a template to mark hole location by sliding damper over edge of panel at 550 mm (21-5/8") from center mark.

3. Drill a 5.5 mm (.220 or 7/32") hole at each mark.

4. Install shelf damper, PN MB477207, through each hole and clip together (Figure 1, View A-A).

5. Install rear shelf panel.
