The catalytic converter is an emission control device added to the exhaust system to effectively reduce the levels of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons entering the atmosphere.
The three-way catalytic converter is a monolithic type converter which contains a honeycomb insert that is coated with palladium catalytic material, Fig. 23.
