A change in the main bearing cap bolt torque should be made in the following service manuals:

Step 5 in each manual should be revised as specified below:


Tighten cap bolts to specified torque in sequence of center, No.

2, No. 4, front and rear caps. Cap bolts should be tightened evenly in 2 to 3 stages before they are tightened to 74-83 N-m.

(55-61 ft.lbs.).
