Fig. 20 Removing concealment plug:
1. Remove carburetor from vehicle.
2. Invert carburetor and, using hacksaw, make two parallel cuts in throttle body. Make cuts on each side of locator points beneath concealment plugs, Fig. 20. The cuts should reach down to the plugs but should not extend more than 1/8 inch beyond locator points. The distance between the saw cuts will depend on the size of the punch being used.
3. Place a flat punch at a point near the ends of the saw marks in throttle body. Hold punch at 45 degree angle and drive it into throttle body until casting breaks away, exposing steel plug.
4. Repeat procedure for other concealment plug.
