Rampage/Scamp models were inadvertently listed in the "models" section of Technical Service Bulletin #21-12-84. This bulletin does not apply to Rampage/Scamp models. Please remove original bulletin #21-12-84 from your files and use this revision.

The A-525 five-speed manual transaxle assembly is released as a service replacement for the 1983 A-465 transaxle.

In order to maintain emission compliance when installing an A-525 transaxle assembly in a 1983 vehicle, the following conditions must be achieved:

1. Vehicle must have Federal Emissions Package (the A-525 service transaxle is not certified for 1983 model year vehicles equipped with high altitude or california emissions).

FIGURE 1 - EGR Valve:

2. EGR Valve Delay Package, PN 4364398, must be installed in the EGR valve vacuum hose as shown in Figure 1.

3. Transfer shift lever from old transaxle to new one.

4. Prepare an Authorized Modification Label, PN 4275086, by typing the information on the label as shown in Figure 2.
5. Install the Authorized Modification Label, PN 4275086, below the VECI label.
